For her. Every Valentine's Day is a celebration of love, an attempt at new found love, or a renewal of an old love. Don't be shy about writing what comes to mind. The best thing about poetry is that, unless you are a college English professor grading creative writing papers, it is never wrong. Don't worry about the iambic pentameter, the courses of verse, the structure or rhyme, just write. Your love can only shine through the true words that come to mind and then to hand, then to paper. The true feelings behind the words are the poetry itself, and no words man has created can ever fully convey the power of love. Here's an example...from me to her.

Drawing near

To be close is my one true goal
My life becomes more perfect
The closer I get to her
By every eager step.

Basking in her love,
Thriving in her care,
Growing in her arms,
Becoming the man I can.

Thousands of miles apart
My love began
Then mere hundreds
To her, I ran.

Those first small steps,
Nervous and wary.
Led me to my true love
My true passion, my life.

Now as we're together
As one, inseparable
My life enriches always
And in all ways, I'm hers.

Just ask. Seriously, it's not a problem. No...really. We might want a reciprocal link or something, but what's the worst that could happen, we say "yes"?
